Mac Essentials: Cyberduck

Cyberduck FTP

If you own a website, you must have come across FTPs and a need of a good FTP to transfer your files. Cyberduck is an opensource FTP client for the Mac that does a very good job in handling FTP, S FTP, Webdav and Amazon S3 transfers.

Cyberduck makes it very easy to handle both uploads and downloads. It’s interface will come across as familiar and intuitive to Mac users as it mimics the Finder’s list view.

Cyberduck also supports external text editing with most of the commonly used text editors. It is very easy to handle and tasks like adding new connections are simple and quick. It is a very good open source program over all.

Recent upgrade released by Cyberduck has added easy to use interface to connect to FTP (File Transfer Protocol), SFTP (SSH Secure File Transfer), WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning), Amazon S3, Google Storage, Windows Azure, Rackspace Cloud Files and even Google Docs.

You definitely want to consider to leave some donation for this lot of developers for doing an amazing job and keeping the software free.
